Mineable Oil Sands Fluid Tailings Volume by Facility as of the end of 2013

Description

This item is a spreadsheet of the volumes of each of the oil sands mines' tailings ponds at the end of 2013. The volumes provided here were taken from the Annual Tailings Compliance and Pond Reports submitted by the operators to the Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) on March 15, 2014. As of February 27, 2015, these volumes not have been validated by the Alberta Energy Regulator, and none of the operators have an approved tailings measurement plan. The AER is working with industry (through COSIA: Canada's Oil Sands Innovation Alliance) to develop tailings measurement standards.
